Once Upon a Line...or Two
Welcome to the wild world of AKWriteStories. A bit of an introduction is probably the best way to start, so buckle up and get ready.
Aimee and Missy are the minds behind the stories that have led you here (or random teaser posts about the story if you're here with us from the very beginning while we're working to get our books out into the wild). We met when we were 12 years old and clicked almost instantly--would have been instantly if not for outside influences... it was 7th grade, after all. By the following year, we were inseparable.
Fast forward a decade or so (we’ll never tell) and we are both married to United States Marine Corps veterans who are fully supportive of our insane habit. Between the two of us, there are eleven kids. Missy is a full-time homeschooling mama to her six kids while also working full time transcribing from home. Aimee has two kids doing online school, two in public school, and one doing in-home preschool, while she is also finishing an AA degree in Early Childhood Education.
Our love of writing started early for both of us, and throughout school, we often shared and critiqued each other’s stories and poetry. Our joint book was born at a time both of us had lost the spark of joy writing ignited. Life had gotten in the way, we struggled to make time for this art that truly brought both of us joy. So, for the first time ever, we started a back-and-forth writing exercise that was meant to do nothing more than revive our creativity. Instead, one sentence back and forth expanded into paragraphs and then chapters until an entire world of characters and plot came to life.
Lines back and forth have now become an intended trilogy. As of this moment, Divided is in the hands of our first round of Beta Readers. The sequel, Sway, is 95% written, and the conclusion, Unified, is currently under construction.
We hope you enjoy getting to know us and our craziness through this blog and that our stories add a little something bright to your day.
